There’s no better way to put gear to the test than in real-world hunting conditions. Earlier this fall, the Nature Tracks team headed out to Victoriaville, Quebec, for a three-day waterfowl hunt with the experienced guides at La Cache Outfitters.
The weather didn’t disappoint — cold, wet, and slushy from sunrise to sundown — the perfect proving ground for our Peak Series - Waterfowl Collection. From the moment we set up in the blinds to the long treks across flooded fields, every piece of Nature Tracks gear earned its place in the lineup.
Our scented waterproof shoe covers kept our boots bone-dry and scent-free, even in ankle-deep mud. The Peak Series Outfitter Waterproof Shotgun Case made hauling our guns across river crossings effortless, while keeping everything sealed tight and protected from water and debris. Meanwhile, our Basecamp Backpack and 40L Duffel Bag carried all the essentials — from shells to dry clothes — through the wettest conditions imaginable without a single leak.
When the last calls echoed across the fields and the final flocks came in, we hit our limits and packed up with smiles all around. We wrapped up the weekend with a visit to Himbeault Boucherie, our go-to local butcher, where our game was cleaned, processed, and ready for the freezer — enough wild duck and goose meat to last for months.
It was the perfect way to kick off the fall season — great company, great hunting, and the confidence that our gear performs exactly as it’s built to: tough, waterproof, and ready for the wild.
Whether you’re chasing geese in flooded cornfields or setting up in icy marshes, the Nature Tracks Waterfowl Collection has you covered — from the first shot to the final haul.
Here are some photos from the weekend — a glimpse into the mud, the blinds, and the memories that made this hunt one for the books.
